I designed and developed my very first mobile game from scratch. The original concept was an endless top down space ship flyer. Overtime I decided to change the character to something more fun and alter the gameplay to make the experience more enjoyable instead of just functional. Many decisions were put into the UI such as having the pause button on the bottom of the screen to prevent the user from having to stretch their thumb across the entire screen in order to pause the game. The location of the taps and decision to turn the boost into a swipe motion were also all carefully thought out in order to engage a user and give their actions enough feedback.
